Free time

Happy Saturday!

I was able to get away for a hour this morning to the best fabric and notions store that I have ever been in! Well at least in years - last one that was this exciting, I was in NY.
I went to the Mill End Store, about half a mile from my house. Its a warehouse, think the Costco of notions and fabric! I was overloaded. I was flooded with ideas.

Once I was able to pull myself together, I finally picked up this rain coat yellow fabric, slick and shiny. I am working on Hudson's Halloween costume and I think it will look great on his "superhero" cape.

I wanted to pick up the tulle for my costume but that will have to wait until later on this week. :)

Fall Bucket List

Its so exciting to be back in a state that actually has Seasons! What is there not to love? Leaves changing colors, the crisp air, sweaters and of course Hot Cocoa!

I found this great printable on Pinterest and I was finally able to track down the original on Loves of Life. There is even a link to print it out for FREE! Im all over this. I love how she has framed it, it will be super easy to use a white board pen to mark them off as we do them!!

I love that she has included time for dates! Great reminder to make time for the adults.

Trust me, I'll be taking plenty of pictures when we do any of these activities! Someday I'll have them in a scrapbook along with this Bucket List...someday.

Thanks again Loves of Love, for this awesome printable and a reminder to get out there and enjoy Fall.

Pinterest #1

I absolutly adore Pinterest! Some mornings I will get up early to look through recent pins, that have been added. It truly inspires me!

I found these great tips on there, that led me to Homemade Mamas. They have a great post about household items for dealing with ice, and rain this winter!

Helpful Hints For Winter
*Ice-proof your windows...with vinegar! Frost on it's way? Just fill a spray bottle with three parts vinegar to one part water & spritz it on all your windows at night. In the morning, they'll be clear of icy mess. Vinegar contains acetic acid, which raises the melting point of water---preventing water from freezing! *

*Squeak-proof your wipers...with rubbing alcohol! Wipe the
wipers with a cloth saturated with rubbing alcohol or ammonia. This one trick can make badly streaking & squeaking wipers change to near perfect silence & clarity. *

*Prevent car doors from freezing shut...with cooking spray! Spritz cooking oil on the rubber seals around car doors & rub it in with a paper towel. The cooking spray prevents water from melting into the rubber!*
*De-ice your lock in seconds...with hand sanitizer! Just put some hand sanitizer gel on the key & the lock & the problems solved! *

*Fog-proof your windshield...with shaving cream! Spray some shaving cream on the inside of your windshield & wipe if off with paper towels. Shaving cream has many of the same ingredients found in commercial defoggers! *

*Keep your headlights clear...with car wax! Just wipe ordinary car wax on your headlights. It contains special water repellents that will prevent that messy mixture from accumulating on your lights - lasts 6 weeks. *

How cool is that?? I cant wait to try these.

Here we go.

I decided that now would be a good time to make my first entry. My son, Hudson is sound asleep on the couch. Its 6:41pm! I know, I will regret this. But he didn't take a nap when he normally does. Its so quiet...
I just can't help myself.

I've tried for the past few weekends to make sure that we do some kind of craft project. I had planned on us making macaroni necklaces to send to the Grandmas.

But then I remembered this idea that I found on Pinterest ."Ghost Foot".

Super cute idea, right??

The thing is, I was not in the mood for my 2.5 year old to be running around with paint on his feet.

So this is what I came up with.

Yes, that is the laundry basket and if you look really close you can see where Hudson wrote on the couch this afternoon.

We glued the traced hands and feet to black paper that I had folded to make cards. Hudson used a hole punch to make the stars.

Well the little man just woke up. Time for a bath, a good book and snuggles in bed with Daddy.
